About the Symbol / Logo of the Japanese Cancer Association
The Japanese Cancer Association newly created a symbol/ logo for the association in July 2004.
Both the English word “cancer” and the German word “Krebs” are derived from the Greek word “karkinos”, which means “crab”. The symbol/ logo was completed by arranging a motif of the Cancer star constellation and the claws of a crab on a logo comprising the letters JCA, the acronym of Japanese Cancer Association.
